Adam Gleason

In this course we focused on learning about the differences in teaching adult learners rather than traditionally aged students. This class was extremely helpful in developing my knowledge about different learning environments and learning pedagogy for adult learners. Throughout the course we were required to complete a weekly assignment reviewing the readings for the week. One of the final projects in the course was to have an adult learning experience. We were allowed to either have another adult teach us something new, or we could teach another adult about the topic of our choice. I chose to have my brother teach me how to change the oil in my car. I documented my experience and wrote a paper relating the experience back to our readings and class materials. This was a great course, and it will certainly play a role in how I approach teaching adult learners in the future.
